Once your lab work has been ordered by the provider, you will recieve an email with instructions for payment and selecting your preferred service center.

Lab work requirements

Lab Results must be no older than 6 months

Labs ordered by your Primary Care Physician or any other clinic are acceptable.

Must contain the following:

  • CMP (comprehensive metabolic panel)

  • CBC (complete blood count)

  • Testosterone, Total and Free

  • Estradiol (ultrasensitive)

  • Lipids

  • Progesterone (women only)

Not required, but highly recommended

  • PSA (men only, annually)

  • SBHG (sex hormone binding globulin)

  • Thyroid Panel (T3 free, rT3, T4, TSH)

  • IGF-1

  • Apolipoprotein B

  • HbA1C

Instructions for the day of blood draw

For best results, please read carefully

  • Blood work should be Fasted (only water).

  • Hold all supplements the day before and day of blood draw.

  • Take all other prescription medication as usual.

  • Hydrate - Ensure you are adequately hydrated. Drink plenty of water the morning of and day before your appointment.

Men on TRT

If you are on sublingual or topical testosterone, take your morning dose of testosterone approximately 2 hours before your blood is drawn.
If you are on injectable weekly or bi-weekly testosterone, do you blood work the day before your next injection.

Function Health is a company that provides very comprehensive lab work services for an annual subscription of $499. They do a full panel annually and follow up lab work is in 6 months. Additional tests can be ordered at anytime by the customer. This service inculdes everything needed for hormone therapy with us.
